Hungerford v Petersfield: PETERSFIELD travelled to Hungerford for their last game of the season.

Electing to bat first, Petersfield got off to a shaky start with runs hard to come by in the early overs. Petersfield lost Henry Shore (four) cheaply before Tom Sherry (29) joined opener Ben Anscombe (121 not out) and formed a good partnership.

Jake Hastie (one) and Mark Butcher (four) came and went before Jack Wrenn (44) joined Anscombe for a key 137-run partnership.

Frank Straw (four) and Oscar Amis (one) fell to expansive shots, and Hans Mai (six not out) joined Anscombe at the crease as Petersfield finished on 251-6.

Hungerford started the chase well with Rowell (44) and A Bell (13) scoring quickly. Oscar Amis (3-43) dismissed Rowell, and also took the wickets of A Bell and Tulloch, but Petersfield struggled to contain McDonald (67) and Thorpe (71).

Hungerford needed 24 runs to win off the last five overs and were only three wickets down when skipper Frank Straw handed the ball back to Joe Clarke (5-40), who produced a devastating spell. McDonald missed a fast, full straight one, and Burbidge was dismissed next ball. Ansell defended the hat-trick ball before losing his off stump to the next one.

Grimmond trudged to the crease and Clarke dismissed him first ball. With Hungerford needing nine to win off 12 balls, Clarke returned to complete his hat-trick, bowling Thorpe, and Jake Hastie then ran out C Bell.

Anscombe bowled Reeves to complete a four-run win.
