Hambledon v Fawley: HAMBLEDON fell to a two-wicket defeat at home to Fawley in Division 3 of the Southern Premier Cricket League on Saturday.

Fawley won the toss and elected to bowl first, and Hambledon’s innings got off to a poor start as opener Paul Vickers was dismissed for a duck. Alexander Willoughby (six) and Will Bond (six) also fell cheaply as the home side slipped to 31-3.

Oliver Willoughby (28) and Spencer Le Clercq (11) made useful contributions, but a flurry of wickets left the hosts on 74-6.

Luke Barber rescued the innings with 68, and Hambledon finished on 170-8 at the end of their allotted 50 overs.

Barber (3-37) also impressed with the ball, but Callum Eari (26 not out) and Adam Freeman (two not out) saw the visitors home to victory.

Le Clercq (2-24), Rhidian Chapman (2-29) and George Harding (1-36) were the other Hambledon wicket takers.
