Liss v Overton: LISS continued their good run with a ten-wicket win against Overton.
Liss lost the toss and bowled first. The hosts were quick out of the blocks with Blanks taking the first wicket with just the third delivery.
This momentum continued with Charles also striking in his first over, leaving Overton two down without scoring a run. Just 11 runs were added before Blanks picked up another three wickets in a single over. At 12-5 Overton were falling apart.
The score moved on to 26 before Charles was back into the action, picking up his second and Overton’s sixth dismissal. Blanks took his fifth and sixth wickets soon afterwards, and at 31-8 an early finish was on the cards.
Charles finished his haul off with his third wicket and with one wicket remaining the total was just 42. Regan decided to attack the bowling and built the largest partnership of the innings with Millar. The pair nearly doubled the score before Cowell had Regan caught for 23 and Overton were all out for 78.
With such a low total Liss needed to chase it down without losing wickets to take maximum points.
Pleace and Kemp opened the batting and got the scoreboard moving. Pleace played solidly while Kemp attacked.
The bowling was tight but Kemp had his mind on the task and found the boundary with ease. It did not take Liss long to wrap the game up.
Kemp took the home side to victory with consecutive boundaries and managed to score 60 of the 80 runs. Liss travel to top of the league East Woodhay on Saturday.
