Bishop’s Waltham v Clanfield: CLANFIELD fell to a five-wicket defeat at Bishop’s Waltham on Sunday.
The visitors won the toss and decided to bat first, although they lost opener Roy Goulding early on for three.
Alex Andrews and John Windebank added 32 together for the second wicket to leave Clanfield well placed at 50-1 before Windebank was dismissed for 12. Andrews was next to go for 32, and wickets then continued to fall at regular intervals.
Tim Ayling (27) and Mike Collins (15) were the only other batsmen to reach double figures as Clanfield were bowled out for 111 in the 32nd over.
The visitors needed early wickets in the field, but Isaac Porter (32) and Richard Dadd (31) broke the back of the run chase with a 42-run partnership for the opening wicket.
Jonny Mash (3-21), Matt Bradley (1-4) and Will Poole (1-21) were the Clanfield wicket takers, but the hosts reached their target in the 30th over.
