Madehurst v Clanfield: CLANFIELD crashed to a resounding defeat at the picturesque Madehurst Bowl in West Sussex.
Conditions were slightly overcast, but this didn’t mask the beauty of the ground and pavilion.
Skipper Mike Collins lost the toss and Madehurst chose to bowl first.
A deadly display of fast bowling from Madehurst’s array of quick bowlers, with no let up from the spinners either, tore through the Clanfield line-up as the visitors only managed to score 127-8 off their allotted 40 overs.
Matt Bradley top scored for Clanfield with 33.
In reply Madehurst knocked off the runs in the 28th over, only losing two wickets as they took the attack to the Clanfield bowlers.
Bob Wheeler (1-44) and skipper Collins (1-17) were the Clanfield wicket takers.
A tough day at the office for Clanfield against a very strong Madehurst outfit.
