Petersfield v Fair Oak II: PETERSFIELD Cricket Club’s first team earned a 42-run victory at home to Fair Oak’s second team on Saturday in Hampshire Cricket League County Division 2.

Dominic Carson (86) and 16-year-old Ben Turk (76) were the mainstays of the Petersfield innings, as they added 162 for the fourth wicket. Andy Barnes also blasted a quick 41 not out as Petersfield finished their allotted 45 overs on an imposing 268-6.

Petersfield’s bowlers then shared the wickets round in the second innings. David Greetham (2-37), Turk (1-31), Ben Anscombe (2-54), Keith Gumbe (2-33), Ben Cox (1-27) and Dominic Carson (1-40) were all in the wickets as Fair Oak scored 226-9 off 45 overs. Charlie Kemp (69 not out) and David Nevin (31) top scored for the visitors, who had been reduced to 152-7.

Petersfield will travel to Amport on Saturday, and captain Damian Carson is hoping to put out another strong team.
