Tichborne Park II v Liss: LISS continued their good away form with a hard-fought win against Tichborne Park’s second team.
Liss won the toss and batted first, but they lost an early wicket when Kemp was bowled for four in the fourth over. Austin soon followed, leaving Liss on 20-2.
Cowell joined Pleace and the pair took Liss to 53 before Pleace was dismissed for 11.
Cowell and Blanks built a good partnership and Cowell went past his half-century.
The partnership had added 73 when Blanks was dismissed for 27.
Cowell then started to launch the ball to all parts, and he received good support from Hannam and Allcock. Cowell brought up his first Liss century and he helped Liss finish on 205.
Blanks and Charles opened the bowling for Liss and both started well.
The pressure mounted for the hosts and Charles struck twice in quick succession, removing both openers.
Tichborne Park were 34-2 after 14 overs and were slipping behind the run rate.
Reid made a steady start for Tichborne Park and then started to despatch the ball to the boundary. Cowell caused a few problems and dismissed Joyce, but Reid reached his half-century and took the hosts past 100.
The hosts needed 70 from the last 15 overs, but Cowell then dismissed Reid for 76.
Dillon-Thistleton and Hedicker then both struck to leave Tichborne 139-6.
Blanks bowled Primmer for 31, and Hedicker took a further three wickets in four overs as Tichborne Park were bowled out for 177.
