Elsted v Tothill Taverners: ELSTED were put into bat, and Andy Wadey and Archie Wadey opened up.
The Tothill bowlers struggled to find their line as several wides were sent down the leg side.
Andy Wadey looked in menacing form as he found the boundary on numerous occasions. The partnership was worth 69 runs when Archie Wadey was caught for 20.
Andy Wadey and Danny Zaman upped the tempo as the Tothill bowlers began to wilt. The pair added 83 runs before Zaman was caught for 29.
Andy Wadey had completed his half-century, and he accelerated and struck a massive six off the final ball of the 35th over to reach his century. His century included three sixes and nine fours, as Elsted finished their innings on 186-3.
When Tothill batted they soon lost three wickets to Julian Evans (3-3) as they slumped to 6-3. They never recovered from this as Anthony White (4-20) also got among the wickets. Apart from A Musler, who struck a few lusty blows, the Tothill batsmen had no answer to White’s bowling.
It was left to skipper Terry Wadey to round off the innings when he bowled A Musler for 34, to give Elsted a thumping victory by 123 runs.
