Stansted Park v Elsted: IN THIS final game of the season, Stansted Park won the toss and batted in this timed game.

Ollie Simpson struck two early blows for Elsted when he dismissed Trafford and Starling. Joy and Rowlandson featured in a useful stand with Joy doing the productive scoring, while Rowlandson plodded slowly along.

The pair added 63 runs before Joy was stumped for 39, and young Anthony White followed this up by dismissing Graham in the same manner. Rowlandson was Archie Wadey’s first victim of the match, and Archie Wadey then dismissed Jenkins for 10.

At the end of the stipulated time Stansted had made 150-8, with the four Elsted bowlers sharing the wickets equally.

The two Wadey brothers opened the reply for Elsted, and put on 22 runs for the first wicket before Andy Wadey was caught for seven. Terry Wadey soon followed but White and Simpson rallied and added 73 before Simpson was caught for 25.

White duly completed his half-century, before he was bowled for 50.

From a healthy 122-4, Elsted collapsed alarmingly to the bowling of Falcolwer and Griffiths and lost five wickets for the addition of four runs to lose the match by 24 runs.
