Froxfield v Old Netley & Highfield: FROXFIELD slipped to a narrow defeat against Old Netley and Highfield, but they pushed the unbeaten league leaders all the way.

Froxfield won the toss and elected to bat but struggled against some accurate new ball bowling, losing captain Jordan Hiscock for a duck as they scored one run from the first eight overs.

Ashley Fooks (21) and Toby Barnett batted patiently, putting on 39 before Fooks edged behind. Paddy Cowell joined T Barnett at the crease and scored fluently throughout before falling for 37.

Jack Brailey (18) and Sam Barnett (17) kept the runs ticking over and some good running between the wickets by Steve Charles (six not out) helped Froxfield to reach 202-7. T Barnett finished on 87 not out.

Hiscock (1-26) made an early breakthrough in the reply for Froxfield. A 61-run partnership was then ended by Cowell (1-38), and Fooks (1-46) also picked up a wicket, but the visitors kept the scoreboard moving along.

Four quick wickets for Hallam Brown (4-27) meant the visitors were 168-7, but the visitors managed to sneak home and won by three wickets with two overs to spare.
