Liss II v Froxfield II: FROXFIELD’S second team continued their good start to the season with a 28-run win over their local rivals Liss.

On a sunny but blustery afternoon, the hosts won the toss and elected to bowl first.

The visitors were soon 8-1 when the experienced Lawrence Baker dismissed Aaron Murray.

Ryan Gander (19) looked in good form but he was bowled by J Evans junior.

At 41-5 Froxfield were struggling but some patient batting from Jim Higgins (four not out) saw him share partnerships of 27 with Sudath Patabendi (21) and 34 with Shaun Guy (20).

A quickfire 13 from David Deakin saw Froxfield finish on 119-9.

Liss started their innings well and at 48-1 off 18 overs the hosts looked on course for victory.

The introduction of Prabath Wanakala (3-5) into the attack saw the hosts lose three wickets with the score on 63.

When Shaun Guy (2-9) bowled Baker (15) the home side were 86-8, and Liss were bowled out for 91.
