Ashford Hill II v Froxfield II: FROXFIELD’S second team travelled to Ashford Hill’s second team hoping to regain their winning form in this Hampshire Cricket League Regional Division 3 North East fixture and they were not to be disappointed.

On a very hot and sunny afternoon Froxfield won the toss and elected to bowl first.

The decision was a wise one with Ashford Hill finding it difficult to score against the accurate bowling of the visitors.

Wickets fell steadily and the hosts struggled to 56-4 off the first 20 overs.

Froxfield continued to pile on the pressure and Ashford Hill collapsed to 95 all out in the 36th over.

Shaun Guy was the most successful bowler, taking 3-17.

Froxfield started their innings steadily.

When they lost their second wicket with the score on 37 the in form Ryan Gander came to the crease and was soon hitting the ball well, with the score moving quickly to 87-4.

Mark Ridley then took two wickets in his first seven deliveries, but it was too little too late, and Froxfield secured a four-wicket win in the 19th over, with Gander finishing on 47 not out.
