Hambledon v Hartley Wintney: HAMBLEDON slipped to a four-wicket defeat at home to Hartley Wintney on Saturday afternoon in Division 2 of the Southern Premier Cricket League.
The home side batted first at Ridge Meadow and openers George Marshall and Will Bond put on 20 for the first wicket before Bond was dismissed by James Beckwith for 12.
Marshall followed for 19, and Hambledon continued to lose wickets at regular intervals. Indy Chakrabarti (34), Henry Glanfield (19), Mark Watkiss (24 not out) and Chris Glanfield (12) were the only other batsmen to reach double figures as the hosts were bowled out for 153 in 42 overs.
Ollie Waddington (1-27), Beckwith (1-18), Rhys Batcup (1-29), Ben Hyde (1-12), Dan Reynaldo (4-28) and Jamie Teale (1-15) were the Hartley Wintney wicket takers.
Opening bowler Rhidian Chapman (4-32) took four wickets for Hambledon to leave the visitors in trouble at 53-4, and George Harding (2-49) took two wickets to leave Hartley Wintney on 68-6.
Opening batsman Henry Collier (79 not out) and Hyde (35 not out) were unfazed though and knocked off the remaining runs for the visitors.
