CHURCHER’S College has successfully won the 2017 Hampshire County Cup schools’ competition for cricket across two age groups.
This year Churcher’s College competed in the under-15, under-14 and unde-13 County Cup finals, winning two games and losing one.
The under-14s produced an impressive performance to defeat a strong King Edward’s outfit by seven runs.
The under-13s then followed that up with a 24-run victory against Portsmouth Grammar School.
The day wasn’t as successful for the under-15s though, who lost to Portsmouth Grammar School.
The victory by the under-14s means the Churcher’s College team will represent Hampshire next year in a national competition, and the under-13s will compete next year as county champions.
Head of cricket at Churcher’s College Rob Maier said: “It has been a brilliant year and an exceptional performance by all the Churcher’s College cricket teams.
“They have delivered consistently and are now able to reap the rewards.
“Well done to you all –enjoy being the champions of the county.”
