Harting v Hindhead: HARTING Cricket Club picked up their first win of the season with a one-wicket victory at home to Hindhead in Division 3 of the I’Anson League on Saturday afternoon.

The home side won the toss and elected to bowl first.

Graham Nutting (3-9), Christian Prior (3-30) and Simon Kyte (1-12) all bowled well as Hindhead were restricted to 99-8 off their allotted 45 overs. Joe Harrison (18), David Babb (16), Ali McGregor (11), Matt Jeffs (21) and Stuart Woods (12) were the Hindhead batsmen who reached double figures.

Harting’s reply got off to a promising start with solid contributions from James Barlow (ten), Terry Wadey (18) and Tom O’Kelly (24), but wickets then started to tumble. When Andy Stubbington was run out the home side had lost nine wickets, but last pair Nutting (ten not out) and Prior (two not out) held their nerve to see Harting home to victory in the 43rd over.
