Singleton v Elsted: SINGLETON batted first and got off to a flying start through Court and Abbott.

Court looked in menacing form as he struck seven boundaries before he was bowled by Warrender for 38.

Warrender (3-50) also accounted for Walmsley but Fisk struck two enormous sixes before Warrender had his revenge and dismissed Fisk for 23.

The young Elsted bowlers stuck to their task gamely but Stanford kept the score ticking along and he duly completed his half-century before Jake Wadey had him well caught by Russell Kyte for 58.

At the end of their allotted 40 overs Singleton had amassed 203-8.

Elsted opened the innings with father and son Terry and Archie Wadey, and the pair put on 24 for the first wicket before A Wadey was caught for 17.

T Wadey soon followed for 19 and Elsted slumped to 68-6, but Harry Stubbington and Kyte had other ideas and the pair mastered the bowling.

After the partnership had yielded 72 runs, Stubbington played on to be bowled for 29.

The Elsted innings closed on 154-7, and Kyte finished on 49 not out, but Elsted lost the match by 49 runs.
