Hook & Newnham Basics v Liphook & Ripsley: LIPHOOK and Ripsley crashed to an emphatic 88-run defeat away at Hook and Newnham Basics in Division 1 of the Southern Premier Cricket League on Saturday.

Jordan Hobday top scored with 60, while Richard Willcock (11), Jack Robson (34), Matt Love (26), Matthew Buckingham (23), Alex Brown (26), Rupert Armstrong (13 not out) and Aniket Divecha (12) also reached double figures as the home side were bowled out for 242.

Sean Burton (4-42), Dave Elliott (4-59), Harry Munt (1-58) and Rob Nicklin (1-5) were the Liphook wicket takers.

Liphook’s reply got off to a decent start as openers Ryan Covey and Sam Franks put on 57 for the first wicket before Franks fell for ten. Covey followed for 58, and Munt (12), Nicklin (25) and Burton (18 not out) were the only other batsmen to reach double figures as Liphook were bowled out for 154 in the 44th over.
