Andover v Liphook & Ripsley: LIPHOOK and Ripsley fell to a convincing 129-run defeat against Andover in Division 1 of the Southern Premier Cricket League on Saturday.

Liphook got off to a dream start in the field as Suman Ganguly bowled Bertie Preston for a golden duck with the first ball of the match. George Neave then dismissed Andrew Duckworth for one and Glyn Treagus for a duck to leave the hosts in trouble on 22-3.

Opener Asher Hart was still at the crease though, and he changed the course of the match as he smashed 161 off 148 balls, hitting 22 fours and two sixes in his innings.

Hart received good support from Josh Ballantine-Dykes (10), Charlie Ayers (44) and Matt Hooper (21) as Andover were bowled out for 272.

Ganguly (4-43), Neave (3-47), Charles Janczur (2-49) and Sean Burton (1-48) were the Liphook wicket takers.

Liphook’s reply never really got going. Gabriel Broadhurst (11), Giles Cover (10), Neave (39) and Burton (20 not out) were the only batsmen to reach double figures as the visitors were bowled out for 143 in the 32nd over.

Aidan Jansen (3-33), Mike Adams (3-40) and Ayers (3-26) did the damage for Andover.
