Sarisbury won the toss and elected to field. Nicklin and Harry Munt (58) added 113 together to rescue Liphook after both openers had fallen cheaply leaving the hosts on 5-2. Nicklin was also well supported by Jonathan Pryce (39), and Quincy Stephens contributed 18 as Liphook finished on 276-8 off 50 overs.
Sarisbury’s reply was marked by a fine partnership between Tom Nightingale (83) and Matt Journeaux (44). Chris Sanders (35 not out) and Tom Kitcher (31) also added vital runs until Kitcher was bowled by Covey in the 47th over to leave the visitors on 255-7. Phil Jewell (14 not out) hit eight runs off the last three deliveries of the match, to take the visitors to 276-8 as the match finished as a tie.
