Liphook & Ripsley v Purbrook: TWO SIGNIFICANT Liphook innings made the difference between the sides when Liphook and Ripsley beat Purbrook by 98 runs at Ripsley Park on Sunday in the first round of the Southern Premier League T20 Cup.

Opening for Liphook, Suman Ganguly crashed 48 in 30 balls before being caught by James Gurney off Brad Mengham. Grant Rouse most impressed with 52 not out in 21 deliveries, and there were two wickets apiece for Mengham and Purbrook skipper Martin Lee.

Purbrook simply could not keep up with the asking rate, despite a spirited reply led by Burger Nel (32), until he was caught in the deep by Giles Cover off Mainak Ray.
