Basingstoke & North Hants V v Liphook & Ripsley III: LIPHOOK captain Alistair Lewis won the toss and chose to field first on a hot and humid day.

The visitors took a wicket in the first over, but Liphook then had to chase a lot of leather as Basingstoke batsmen Richards and Dicker amassed a huge total of 253-2, with Richards finishing unbeaten on 125.

Josh Wood took one of the only two wickets to fall in his first game of adult cricket. Liphook openers Mick Poore and Lewis were looking good until Lewis was dismissed for 27. Liphook then felt the pressure of facing a strong bowling line-up and collapsed to 47-7.

The tail wagged briefly with Nick Cansfield (11) and Gordon Scott (nine not out) adding some runs as Liphook finished their innings on 84-9.

One positive for Liphook was that they managed to pass the 75-run mark in order to claim a batting bonus point.
