Liphook & Ripsley III v Grayshott IV: LIPHOOK and Ripsley third team skipper Al Lewis was back on toss winning form and asked Grayshott’s fourth team to bat first on a slightly warmer day than of late at the beautiful Stedham ground.

Richard Jarrett and Richard Grimes opened the bowling and had Grayshott under the cosh from the off. Only 11 runs were conceded from their opening 12-over spell, and Grimes claimed the wicket of Paul Heath when he was brilliantly caught in the slips by old-timer Gordon Scott.

Lewis and John Strong then entered the attack and ripped the heart out of the Grayshott batting line-up. Strong took 2-37 and Lewis claimed his first five-wicket haul for Liphook with 5-22.

Jarrett took the final wicket as Grayshott were bowled out for 94 in the 37th over.

Liphook opener Tim Lewis (55 not out) reached his half-century with a big six, and he was ably supported by Strong (34 not out) as they effortlessly knocked off the runs in less than 15 overs.

Liphook’s third team have now won their opening three matches of the season and sit at the top of the I’Anson League Division 7 table.
