Compton & Chandler’s Ford IV v Liphook & Ripsley III: DAVE Coombes and John Strong opened the batting for Liphook and built a solid foundation until Coombes was caught in the gully with the score on 26 in the tenth over.

Toby Flack played a couple of nice strokes before being bowled for 11, and he was quickly followed by Danny Zaman, leaving Liphook on 48-3.

When Strong was dismissed for 17 Liphook were 67-4 in the 25th over. After Nick Cansfield was run out for 11, Jake Tapp (31) and Anthony Lewis (43) turned the game around with a succession of big shots in a partnership of 60 runs from nine overs. James Cansfield and Max Chaplin added a few more valuable runs as Liphook finished on 163.

Liphook took to the field, keen to register their first win of the season. Tapp took three wickets for 12 runs from his opening spell of six overs, which included an impressive catch taken by Flack at first slip. Strong replaced Matt Cansfield and produced a fine spell of 2-18 from ten overs.

Chaplin conceded only ten runs from four overs, and Anthony White (3-17) and Coombes (1-13) polished off the tail, bowling the hosts out for 87.
