Liss II v Petersfield III: LISS’ second team beat Petersfield’s third team by nine wickets in a local derby at The Glebe on Saturday afternoon in Regional Division 3 North East of the Hampshire Cricket League.
Liss won the toss and elected to bowl on a hot day and toiled away persistently, with Lawrence Baker claiming three wickets in his opening spell of 3-19.
Christian Hedicker then came on to bowl and in his nine overs took 5-10, however, the Petersfield score still gradually made its way to 120.
In the 41st over Petersfield were all out for 122, Ben Cox the last man out after scoring a stoic and determined 56.
Liss then raced to victory in 16 overs.
Jake Southam opened the batting and thumped a quickfire 78 not out, alongside Steve May (17) and Peter Fry (12 not out), to see Liss to a comprehensive nine-wicket victory.
Cox (1-44) was the Petersfield wicket taker.
