Liss v Hungerford: LISS batted first on Saturday on a good track.

Hannam opened with Pleace and the pair made a steady start before Pleace was caught behind for two.

Moore joined Hannam at the crease and the pair managed to put on 30 before Hannam was bowled for 36.

The visitors continued to bowl well and when Blanks fell for two Liss were 82-3.

Clarke came to the crease and hit a series of early boundaries to swing the game back in Liss’ favour.

Clarke and Moore added 154 together for the fourth wicket before Clarke was caught for 71.

Moore was caught for 98 off the last ball of the innings as Liss finished on 248-5.

Liss started well with the ball as Blanks took two wickets in his first three overs.

The dismissal of Rowell for just 12 gave Charles his first wicket and the away side were in trouble at 19-3. Blanks then took two more wickets to put Liss on top.

A change of bowling brought Dillon-Thiselton and Hedicker into the attack, and both players made early breakthroughs to leave the visitors on 85-7.

Thorpe and Burbridge then formed the biggest partnership of Hungerford’s innings. Thorpe was bowled for 32, but Burbridge continued to score freely.

Burbridge reached his half-century and took the visitors past 150.

Liss then took the last two wickets to bowl Hungerford out for 177, with Burbridge left stranded on 65 not out.

Liss are now in second place in the County Division 3 North table.
