Compton & Chandler’s Ford IV v Liss II: LISS’ second team earned a comprehensive nine-wicket victory against Compton and Chandler’s Ford’s fourth team on Saturday afternoon in Regional Division 3 North East of the Hampshire Cricket League.

Liss won the toss and elected to bowl first and with the score at 36-0 from eight overs Liss were preparing for a long day in the field, but good bowling from Lawrence Baker (3-32 from ten overs) and Jack Evans (4-37) soon had the Compton score at 61-7 from 16 overs.

Steve Hedicker then came on and with his first ball ended the Compton innings at 71 all out, Copeland top scoring with 23.

Liss’ reply got off to a poor start, with the first wicket falling in the third over, but an excellent 38 not out from Peter Fry and a steady 26 not out from Ian Brownlee guided Liss to a nine-wicket victory in 23 overs.
