Liss v Chawton: LISS welcomed Chawton to the Glebe and opted to bat first after winning the toss.

Channon made an early breakthrough for Chawton, as he had Pleace caught behind for nine. Channon then took three more wickets to leave Liss struggling on 41-4.

Clarke and Kemp added 49 together before Kemp was dismissed for 19 by T Charlton. Clarke went past his half-century and added 66 with Allcock before Clarke was dismissed for 59. Allcock followed for 34 and Dillon-Thiselton (24 not out) struck some large blows to take Liss to 217-9 at the end of their allocated 45 overs.

Chawton opener Williams looked positive from the opening ball and looked to score regularly as the opening pair added 35 together before Charles dismissed Hulme for six.

Clarke and Dillon-Thiselton came into the attack and the visitors reached 72 before a quick piece of thinking by Austin ran out Vickers.

Clarke then took two wickets in quick succession before Chawton could settle, leaving the visitors on 101-4.

Channon and S Charlton added 58 before Blanks dismissed S Charlton for 19.

Channon was batting well but wickets continued to fall, and when Lidgett was run out in the 43rd over Chawton were nine wickets down and the scores were level. Channon (78 not out) wrapped things up for the visitors as Chawton won by one wicket with two overs to spare.

Liss still have a chance of getting promoted after other results went their way, and they will travel to Steep this Saturday.
