Steeple Langford v Petersfield: PETERSFIELD won by 41 runs at Steeple Langford in County Division 3 North of the Hampshire Cricket League on Saturday afternoon.

Henry Shore and Jake Hastie put on 34 for the first wicket for Petersfield before Hastie was dismissed for 11. Jack Wrenn followed for 12 and Shore fell for 35, and when Ben Anscombe was bowled by Matthew Dhanji (2-26) for a duck the visitors were 62-4.

Dave Marshall and Tom Sherry got the innings back on track with a 52-run partnership for the fifth wicket, before Sherry was bowled by Chris Miles for 29.

Miles took three more wickets, but Marshall carried on and brought up his century before he was bowled by Miles (5-49) for 107 off the last ball of the innings. Petersfield finished on 229-9 off their allotted 45 overs.

Chris Mundy and Gary Smith got the home side’s reply off to a good start with a 65-run partnership for the first wicket before Hans Mai (1-17) dismissed Smith for 32.

Wrenn (1-23) claimed the key wicket of Mundy for 70, and Liam Harvey (26) was the only other batsmen to reach double figures as the hosts finished on 188-8.
