Captain Ellis lost the toss and the hosts elected to bat.
Callingham immediately had the home side in trouble as they slumped to 31-3. The early wickets brought home captain Westrope to the crease, who rebuilt the innings with Colmer.
With the score on 128-3 Cosgrove diverted a thunderous drive from Colmer into the stumps at the non-strikers end, leaving Westrope short of his ground.

In reply the Steep innings started slowly, with Yates being dismissed in the fifth over with the score on five.
Ellis joined Callingham at the wicket and they put on 90 for the second wicket before Ellis was dismissed for 42.
Callingham then fell for 45 and Steep were behind the run rate on 106-4 after 29 overs, as Burkie holed out looking to up the rate. With Steep needing to score 90 runs off 13 overs McCubbin took control of the run chase.
Steep lost a couple of quick wickets but McCubbin and Lewis produced the decisive partnership of the game.
McCubbin reached his half century and Steep needed nine runs off the last over. Lewis was run out, but McCubbin hit the last ball for four to win the game.
