Petersfield v Redlynch & Hale: PETERSFIELD slipped to an agonising one-wicket defeat at home to Redlynch and Hale in County Division 3 North of the Hampshire Cricket League on Saturday.

The home side lost opening batsman Dave Marshall for a duck, but Henry Shore and Frank Straw added 54 for the second wicket before Straw fell for 25. Wickets continued to fall as Petersfield slipped to 111-6, before Shore and Hans Mai added 56 for the seventh wicket. Shore fell for an impressive 94, and Mai followed for 24 as Petersfield were bowled out for 175.

The home side started well in the field as Straw (4-12) took three early wickets and Oscar Amis (1-3) struck to leave the visitors on 45-4. Straw dismissed Kevin Hopkins for 36, and Shore (2-22), Marshall (1-26) and Joe Clarke (1-25) struck to leave the visitors on 152-9. Opener Ian Tanner (66 not out) remained though, and knocked off the runs with Ben Brown (six not out).
