Petersfield v Fair Oak II: PETERSFIELD Cricket Club slipped to a seven-wicket defeat at home to Fair Oak’s second team on Saturday in County Division 2 of the Hampshire Cricket League.
William Shore (33), Tom Sherry (28), Oscar Amis (22) and captain Frank Straw (12) were the only batsmen to reach double figures as Petersfield were bowled out for 144 in the 39th over. James Featherstone (3-25), Freddie Eley (2-24), Nick Bass (2-32) and Alexander Chessell (2-34) were the Fair Oak wicket takers.
The home side got off to a good start in the field as Dave Marshall dismissed Charlie Kemp for one to leave Fair Oak on 5-1. However, James Todd (25) and Matthew Burrell (55) added 82 for the second wicket to get the visitors back on track, before David Illsley (four not out) and Mitch Le Tissier (39 not out) saw Fair Oak to victory. Marshall (1-19), Straw (1-34) and Amis (1-70) were the Petersfield wicket takers.
