Rowledge II v Petersfield: PETERSFIELD Cricket Club’s first team crashed to a comprehensive 98-run defeat at Rowledge’s second team on Saturday in County Division 2 of the Hampshire Cricket League.

The home side batted first and got off to a good start as openers Morrant (61) and Gleave (59) put on 118 for the first wicket.

Davies (31 not out), Marshall (23) and Swann (23) kept the momentum going as Rowledge scored an impressive 216-5 off their allotted 45 overs.

Damian Carson (2-14), Ben Anscombe (1-34) and Keith Gumbe (1-53) were the wicket takers for Petersfield.

Petersfield’s reply got off to a poor start as Archie Norris (eight), Alex Thomas (four), Dominic Carson (seven) and Ben Turk (nine) all fell cheaply and the visitors slipped to 32-4.

Damian Carson rallied with a quickfire 22, but when Henry Shore (nine) and Andy Barnes (nought) both fell cheaply Petersfield were 67-7.

Ben Anscombe (24 not out) and Henry Austin (12) both reached double figures but the damage had already been done.

Keith Gumbe (nought) was the last man out as Petersfield were bowled out for 118 in the 32nd over.
