Railway Triangle v Petersfield II: PETERSFIELD’S second team travelled to Drayton Park to play Railway Triangle on a windy but sunny day.

Railway Triangle won the toss and put Petersfield in to bat on a green track.

Petersfield openers Chris Wood (31) and Dave Squires (25) got off to a slow start but they upped the run rate and reached 69 off 23 overs.

The opening partnership was broken by Tom Lawler (1-25) as an edge from Wood went through to the keeper.

Squires went two overs later as he was bowled by spinner Mark Snook (3-25). Chris Russell (7) was caught off Warren Turner (3-20) and then Oscar Amis (4) was bowled by Snook.

The collapse continued as Rob Walton (4) was followed into the pavilion by Paddy May and Dan May.

Nathan Barlow (7) was then run out to leave Petersfield on 101-8, but Rich Stephens (19 not out) and Steve Gibson (ten not out) took the score along to 139-8.

Petersfield started well, removing Snook and Mark Lanston in the first five overs as Amis (1-20) and Wood (2-15) bowled well. Tom Newman (47) and Lawler (17) put on 30 before Lawler chipped a low catch to Amis at mid-wicket. Jason Russell (12) and Newman then added 41 before J Russell was caught by Gibson off Barlow (1-26), leaving Railway Triangle on 74-4.

Newman and Ben Weam (35 not out) put on 55 in ten overs, before Newman edged behind off D May (1-18).

Richard Fisher (3) was dismissed by Stephens (1-7) in the next over, but the runs were hit in the 35th over.
