Liss v Dinton: LISS continued their good run with a home victory against Dinton.
Dinton won the toss and batted first. Liss’ opening bowlers started well and Blanks made an early breakthrough, dismissing Pearce without scoring.
With 15 overs gone the introduction of Charles made an immediate impact, as he picked up a wicket in his first over. This was followed by Blanks’ second wicket, leaving the visitors on 49-3.
Dinton’s fourth wicket quickly followed with a left handed diving catch by Moore giving Blanks his third wicket. Dillon-Thistleton took the fifth wicket, but the visitors crept over 100.
Dillon-Thistleton picked up his second wicket and Hedicker struck twice in two overs to leave Dinton 128-8 with three overs left. The visitors crept up to 144 before the innings came to an end.
Liss lost two wickets in their first over as Kemp and Hannam were both trapped leg before wicket to leave the hosts 0-2. Cowell then played round a straight one and Liss were in trouble at 7-3.
Blanks came to the crease and along with Pleace used the next few overs to settle everything down and grind out some runs to get the scoreboard moving.
The batsmen then started to settle and hit a series of boundaries. Pleace reached another half-century and Liss reached their target with 20 overs still to go.
Blanks reached his first half-century of the year and Pleace finished on 82 not out. Neither player gave a chance and their 141-run partnership saw Liss home.
