Odiham & Greywell v Liss: LISS got their season up and running with a superb win against a strong Odiham side.
Overnight rain had livened up the pitch and the home side put Liss into bat.
Kemp and Pleace kept their heads and picked up runs when they could.
Extra bounce and movement had Kemp caught for 19 and Liss lost four more batsmen for just seven runs.
The visitors were 64-5 and were looking at a low total.
Moore joined Pleace and added 53 runs before Moore was caught for 18.
Allcock scored 45 before being caught behind off the bowling of Hartnett. The 66-run partnership had set Liss up and Pleace opened his shoulders. Pleace went past his century as Liss scored 64 runs off the last five overs.
Liss finished on 269, with Pleace 142 not out and Dillon-Thistleton 17 not out.
Odiham’s run chase started well and they were scoring at more than six an over before Taylor was caught off the bowling of Moore. Blanks dismissed Munt for 19, but Shooling and Hodgson kept Odiham on track at the halfway point on 128-2.
Dillon-Thistleton made the breakthrough when he had Hodgson caught for 41.
Hedicker took two wickets in two overs and dismissed Shooling for 80.
Odiham were 174-5 and needed 96 runs from the last nine overs. Hedicker’s third and fourth wickets came in quick succession and the hosts needed more than 50 runs from the final three overs. Matty Evans struck twice in two deliveries and the last wicket was a run out as Liss claimed a 39-run win.
