Elsted v West Meon: ELSTED took first use of a good batting track and Ollie Simpson and Mike Hale took the West Meon bowlers to task.
Simpson, in particular, was in good form, as he struck the ball sweetly to the boundary on several occasions.
Johnson and Moore for West Meon came in for harsh treatment when they bowled and Simpson raced to his half-century before being caught for 66, after hitting two sixes and nine fours, as the opening partnership yielded 103 runs.
Hale and young Anthony White continued the good work as the West Meon bowlers toiled in vain to stem the flow of runs.
Hale duly completed his half-century before being dismissed for 62, after hitting ten fours.
Jake Wadey was dismissed without scoring but skipper Terry Wadey and White added 53 runs before T Wadey was bowled for 32.
White scored 37 not out, as Elsted finished their innings on 206 for the loss of four wickets.
After two balls of the West Meon innings rain started to fall and got heavier and unfortunately what promised to be a good contest fizzled out and the match was abandoned.
