Colden Common &?Otterbourne v Petersfield II: COLDEN Common and Otterbourne won the toss and asked Petersfield’s second team to field first.
It did not take long for Petersfield to make the breakthrough with Richard Stephens (3-31) removing Tom Brougham (two). The hosts rebuilt before Sam Purkis (13) and Lee Stevens (21) both fell to Stephens. Ben Watts (seven) gave Joe Clarke (2-24) his first wicket and Jamie Watts (31) edged to keeper Andy Butcher off John McGuire (1-27) to leave the hosts 81-5.
Steve Powell (44 not out) and Darren Jacobs (21) took the score to 113 before Jacobs was caught behind off Clarke.
Kelvin Sequira (22) and Powell pushed the score to 160 before Sequira was caught by Clarke off skipper Chris Russell (1-39). Nathan Barlow (1-22) then removed Archie Dunn (0) and ran out Theo Poulton (2), but Powell took the home side to 178-9.
Petersfield started slowly and took advantage of some sloppy fielding to reach 30 before Jake Hastie (20) was bowled by Watts (1-21). Dave Squires (18) was the next to go when Dunn took a sharp return catch. Marcus Sampson (9) was the next out trying to push the score along.
Russell (53) was joined by Butcher (47) and the pair put on a century partnership at better than a run a ball to take the game away from the hosts. The partnership was broken when Sequira (2-53) bowled Butcher.
Russell was dismissed with the scores level, but Clarke saw Petersfield to a last over five-wicket win.
