Petersfield II v Easton & Martyr Worthy II: PETERSFIELD won the toss and decided to bowl first.
Steve Gibson (3-44) struck early on when he bowled Hamish Croft (three). Sebastian Stanard (25) and Dave Ling (65) put on 60 runs for the second wicket before Stanard lofted spinner Chris Wood (2-30) to Oscar Windebank in the deep, who took a fine running catch.
Ling then gave a return catch to Chris Wood to break the third-wicket stand of 73.
Adam Carrick (42) missed out on a half-century as he missed a straight one from Windebank (1-31). A McLoud (35) and Brian Neville (17) threw the bat as the innings came to a close with the visitors finishing on 218-6.
Petersfield’s openers put on 41 for the first wicket before Fergus Evans (four) was bowled by Adam Murch (1-28). Wood fell for a duck, and David Evans (one) got a ball that turned and took out off stump from Carrick (2-31) as Petersfield slumped to 51-3.
Dave Squires (51 not out) and Windebank (47) then put on 87 for the fourth wicket.
With the run rate climbing to nearly ten-an-over Windebank hit one too many shots as he mistimed a ball from Neville (3-38) to mid-off. Mark Holloway then fell for six and Patrick Bell missed a straight one.
Petersfield were 155-6 with two overs left and Squires needed nine for his half-century. Gibson (five not out) came in to support Squires and ensured he was on strike for the last over.
Squires hit the last ball of the innings for four to reach his half-century as the hosts finished on 170-6.
