Liphook &?Ripsley v Sarisbury Athletic: STAND-IN skipper Ryan Covey led his side to a comfortable 62-run Southern Premier League Division 1 win against his former side, Sarisbury Athletic, at Ripsley Park, their ninth league and cup victory of the season.

Ryan Covey top scored with 60 patient runs in an opening partnership of 110 with brother, Richard, who scored 51.

Although spinner Ricky Rawlins (3-43) removed Ryan Covey, Suman Ganguly and Mainak Ray, a diligent sixth-wicket partnership of 55 between Grant Rouse (36) and Harry Munt (32) took Liphook to a commanding total of 251 all out in the final over.

Sarisbury made a shaky start with their top three soon back in the pavilion. Liphook were well served by some fine catching, not least the diving pair of catches by Chris Martin.

Sarisbury skipper Matt Journeaux (48) and Jamie Dunn (53) then did their best to turn the game around with a rapid stand of 88 until Munt chipped in with a vital spell of 4-33.

He was well assisted by fellow spinner Ray (3-39), as the visitors tumbled to 189 all out in the 44th over.
