WITH the start of the outdoor season imminent, Steep Stoolball Club are inviting anyone who wishes to try out the game to come along to two open evenings.

The open evenings will be held at Steep Cricket Ground from 6.30pm on Wednesday, April 6, and Wednesday, April 13.

The club has been established since 1971 and the founder still plays the occasional game. There is an active junior section organised by Rachel Gorvin.

Friendly fixtures with local West Sussex teams are played on Monday and Wednesday evenings with tournaments on Sundays.

There is also an indoor league played at The Grange, Midhurst, on Sunday early evenings during the winter. Steep will be participating in the knockout cup semi finals of this on Sunday, April 17.

The evening matches will be captained by Lauren Preston and the Sunday tournament team by Hannah Lindsey.
