Liss v Chawton: LISS produced a stuttering display against Chawton.
Liss bowled first and Blanks and Baker looked to make a good start with the new ball. Chawton batsman Taylor scored quickly, and was helped by the Liss fielders dropping him twice in the first five overs.
Charles came into the attack and dismissed Taylor for 54. Charles then dismissed Moth for six, bringing the dangerous Channon to the crease. Channon looked to attack and quickly reached 20 before he was also dropped.
Charles bowled Channon with the next delivery, which left Chawton 88-3. Charles claimed his fourth wicket, and Moore picked up a wicket with his fourth delivery. Moore (5-6) took four more wickets as Chawton were bowled out for 138.
The Liss batsmen struggled with the drying track and Vickers dismissed Kemp for three. With only 24 on the board, Channon took two wickets in two balls and with only seven more runs added he bowled Pleace for 11. Liss were 31-4 and in real trouble.
Austin and Blanks looked to get the home side back on track and started to build a partnership, but Blanks was then bowled for seven by Vickers. Allcock joined Austin and the pair put on 23 before Austin was caught for 16, leaving Liss 71-6.
Charlton’s movement was too much for the lower order, and each new batsman struggles to score. Allcock was still there but the wickets continued to fall at the other end.
Liss lost their final four wickets for just nine runs and were all out for 80, with Allcock 17 not out.
