Portchester v Petersfield: PETERSFIELD Cricket Club’s first team earned an impressive 31-run victory at Portchester on Saturday afternoon in Hampshire Cricket League County Division 2.

The visitors batted first and skipper Damian Carson led from the front with 52. Archie Norris (16), Dominic Carson (22), Henry Shore (37) and Toby Austin (13 not out), and Ben Turk smashed 61 not out as Petersfield finished on an imposing total of 225-4 off their allotted 45 overs.

Damian Carson led the way with the ball as well, taking 4-42 off his ten overs. Frank Straw (2-26), Ben Cox (2-39) and Ben Anscombe (2-42) took the other wickets that fell as Portchester were bowled out for 194. Plenty of batsmen got in and got out for the hosts, with Tom Adams top scoring with 38 runs.

Petersfield are in action at home this Saturday, when they will entertain Hythe and Dibden at the Heath. The match will start at 2pm.
