LISS Tennis Festival will be held at Newman Collard Playing Fields from 1-6pm on Saturday.
Entry to the event is free, and Bright Ideas for Tennis will be bringing Davis Cup tennis to Liss.
Davis Cup players Danny Sapsford and Luke Milligan will be running pre-booked payable coaching sessions for minis, juniors and adults keen to improve their on-court play. Sessions must be booked in advance by e-mailing [email protected], but spaces are limited.
There will also be free activities taking place on one of the hard courts for anyone wishing to participate on the day, as well as short tennis nets set up on the playing fields along with other garden games such as table tennis, croquet and badminton.
Following the coaching sessions, there will be a fastest serve competition, and the Davis Cup players will hope to roll back the years with some rallies and trick shots.
The Pimm’s tent and barbecue will be running throughout the afternoon along with various other stalls. There will also be a raffle and silent auction with prizes including a visit to the National Tennis Centre at Roehampton, tickets to county cricket, a golf lesson and trolley, a helicopter ride, hampers and gift vouchers.
A selection of produce will be available to purchase from the home produce stall.
Bright Ideas for Tennis is a registered charity and provide their services free to bring awareness of tennis.
Following the event all funds raised will be used exclusively to provide free coaching for the community.
