New Forest Ladies II 2 Petersfield Ladies 1: PETERSFIELD Ladies travelled south to Brockenhurst College to play New Forest Ladies’ second team.

New Forest got off to a strong start and dominated the first half as continuous pressure on the Petersfield defence squeezed play into the visitors’ half.

This restricted Petersfield’s ability to make successful breaks as they couldn’t quickly play the ball up the pitch.

The defence fed the ball out to the wings and Cullen utilised the gaps in New Forest’s defensive line to find Bardoe up front, but the home side dealt comfortably with Petersfield’s attacks.

The visitors held tight at the back despite the relentless pressure they were under and the score was level at 0-0 at half time.

In the second half New Forest upped the pressure and pushed players higher up the pitch, loading the Petersfield D.

This tactic proved successful for the home side and they managed to score two goals in quick time.

Petersfield spread the play to try to link the play higher up the pitch with more ease and get themselves back in the match.

Cullen fed the ball out to Presnell who played it up the centre to Easton.

Easton ran at the New Forest defence and secured a short corner for the visitors.

Easton’s strike from the top of the D deflected off a defender’s stick to make it 2-1. Petersfield were unable to find an equaliser as New Forest held on to claim the victory.
