CHURCHER’S College pupils Jack Stubbings and Tom Smith were selected to represent the South of England at under-17 and under-15 level respectively in the England Hockey Future’s Cup.

Jack and Tom both played important roles in their teams, helping them to win their respective age categories, with Jack scoring in every game. The tournament was cut short for Tom when he broke his hand at the beginning of the final match.

Jack was also selected to play for the England Red team in the UK School Games for under-17s, which was held at Loughborough University. Jack scored three goals in four matches at the tournament, and his team won a bronze medal.

Jack has been selected to join the England under-18 hockey squad. He will embark on a series of training and selection events at the National Sports Centre in Lilleshall, culminating in the under-18 European Championships in Spain next year.
