Farnham Road Club’s time-trial event at Bentley on Saturday attracted 12 solo riders and one tandem pairing.
Jim Brown was timekeeper, with help from Jim Parker and Nigel Bicknell. The fastest rider was Farnham’s Roger Taylor in 23min 27secs, closely followed by Nick Stagg (Hounslow & District CC) in 23min 44secs. Farnham’s Alastair Godfrey was third in 24min 42secs. Farnham’s Demetrius Onoufriou was fourth in 24min 54secs, with Michael Harrison (North Hants RC) fifth in 24min 55secs. Charlotteville CC's Matt Butler was sixth in 25min 52secs. Mike Boyce (a3crg) and the Farnham tandem of Robert Allen and Paul Charman were tied for seventh in 26min 08secs. Farnham riders David Welling (27min 05secs), Ian Howard (27min 18secs), Richard Williams (30min 42secs) and Michael Rice (30min 42secs) filled the remaining places.
Farnham Road Club’s event on Saturday, April 6, at the Frensham-based circuit attracted eight solo riders and one tandem pairing. Jim Brown was timekeeper, with help from David Clifford and Jim Parker. The fastest rider was Farnham’s Demetrius Onoufriou (19min 17secs), who beat club-mate Roger Taylor (19min 18secs) by one second. Charlotteville CC’s Matt Butler was third in 20min 22secs. On the tandem, Paul Charman and Robert Allen recorded 20min 40secs. Farnham’s Paul Goscomb was fifth in 20min 57secs, with Derek Dowden (Hampshire RC) sixth in 21min 47secs. Farnham’s Ian Howard (21min 53secs), Michael Rice (23min 55secs) and Lindsay Bamford (24min 50secs) filled the remaining places.
The series continues on the Bentley-based ten-mile course at 9am on Saturday. Visiting riders are welcome.
