THE 250th running of Queen Elizabeth Country Park Parkrun on Saturday saw 67 people run, jog and walk the course.
Eighteen were first timers, two recorded new personal bests and representatives from 11 running clubs took part.
First timer Simon Gill finished first in a time of 19min 36secs. The first woman home was Lindsay Russell, who finished in a time of 20min 45secs.
The first junior was ten-year-old Elliot Lewis, who finished in a time of 24min 27secs.
The event was made possible by 12 volunteers who helped out on the day – they were Kathryn Marie Elmer, Katherine Hodkin, James Leighton, Kate Heffer, Ivor McQuaid, Kevin McTaggart, Katie Clarke, Nicholas Woodroof, Amelie Lewis, Rob Fleming, Joanna Guy and John Roberts.
Queen Elizabeth Country Park’s Parkrun started in May 2013.
Parkruns are free to enter, weekly events run at the same venue over 5km and they are open to athletes of all abilities.
Queen Elizabeth Country Park Parkrun takes place at the park next to the A3 every Saturday at 9am.
