THE 290TH running of Queen Elizabeth Country Park Parkrun on Saturday saw 99 people run, jog and walk the course.

Twenty-nine were first timers, 15 recorded new personal bests and representatives of 25 running clubs took part.

The first finisher this week was Thomas Keenan from Sutton and District Athletic Club. It was his first time running the course and he recorded a time of 20min 51secs.

The first female runner home was Jo Payze, who finished in 17th place overall in 23min 37secs.

The first junior runner home was Marcus Taylor, who finished in 11th place overall in 22min 39secs.

The top age graded performance of the day was by Liss Runners’ Andrew James. He finished seventh overall in a time of 22min 10secs, which equated to an age grade of 76.39 per cent running in the VM65-69 age grade.

The event was made possible by 12 volunteers who helped out on the day – they were: Marie Wiles, Dwayne Bartram, Duncan Johnstone, Amelie Lewis, Rachel Lewis, Pippa White, Tanya Roberts, Harriet White, Andrea Budden, Emlyn Jones, Max Becvar and John Roberts.
