ALRESFORD Town slipped to a 2-0 defeat at home to Portland United in the Sydenhams Wessex League Premier Division on Saturday afternoon.

Jamie Symes’ penalty in the 35th minute gave the visitors the lead at Arlebury Park, and Darren Watts made it 2-0 to Portland on 37 minutes.

Alresford will face AFC Stoneham in the Southampton Senior Cup final after Stoneham beat Winchester City 4-3.
