ALRESFORD Town endured a week of mixed fortunes in the Sydenhams Wessex League Premier Division with a win and a defeat.

The Magpies started their week with a 2-0 defeat at home to Hamble Club last Tuesday night.

Jason Silver and Ryan Wilkins scored the goals which gave the visitors the three points.

Alresford responded superbly from that setback with a comprehensive 5-0 victory at Andover New Street on Saturday afternoon.

Lukas McCartney’s goal in the 45th minute gave the visitors a 1-0 lead at half time.

Paul Coventry doubled Alresford’s advantage in the 61st minute, and Luke Ray made it 3-0 to the Magpies on 67 minutes.

Sam Burt made it 4-0 to the visitors in the 83rd minute, and Rae completed the scoring for the afternoon when he scored his second and Alresford’s fifth goal on 90 minutes.
